gypsum

Although you have heard about "gypsum" so many times, but have you understood about what gypsum is and its benefits for our life?

Gypsum is a type of mineral with high levels of calcium. This mineral has various benefits in the life such as ingredients of medicines, beauty products, or even building materials.

For construction and building materials industry, gypsum is used as a material for walls and ceilings. Gypsum board has been introduced to the society since hundreds years ago, and from then on gypsum board is believed as alternative for the building interior.

In Indonesia, gypsum is easy to find in Kalimantan and West Java, but until today the utilization of gypsum in Indonesiahas not been maximized. Of the total 260 million population of Indonesia, the current use of gypsum only reaches 100 million square meters and 95% of them use Gypsum only for the ceiling compared to the wall lining system.*

Whereas using gypsum board for ceiling and wall systems have many advantages such as:

  • Produce a flat and smooth ceiling with no visible connection.
  • Provide various forms of finishing such as drop up celling, dome, or others.
  • Easy maintenance and repair. If there's damage with your building, you don't need to replace the entire wall, but simply by repairing the damaged part only using the compound.
  • Easy and quick installation.
  • Provide fast track construction..
  • Easy to find in the market.

Based on this condition, we may say that it's unfortunate considering we'll get so many advantages by using gypsum board, such as easy maintenance and economical price. Therefore, Gyproc Indonesia is committed to keep educating the public about the utilization of gypsum for the wall system in various sectors in Indonesia.
