1st EDITION OF DKI JAKARTA AND FRANCE SEMINAR

The President of the Republic of Indonesia has decided to move the capital outside Java. After the location of the new capital city was officially announced, the government continue to finalize the relocation plan with the help of various parties.

Saint-Gobain Indonesia was invited by the French Embassy to participate in contributing to formulate the concept of the New Capital City (Borneo) in BAPPENAS with Sustainable Building theme and Green Building concept at 1st Edition of DKI Jakarta and France Seminar at Jakarta City Town Hall, on Thursday (28/11).

The Green Building concept is a building planning with the objective of making a better life and by meeting human needs that include aspects of nature, health, and social sustainability. This concept focuses on 4 main factors: Structure Design Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, and Material Efficiency.

In addition, Saint-Gobain Indonesia was also invited to provide ideas and solutions for Jakarta Sustainable City, in the City Hall. As part of Saint-Gobain Indonesia Group, MU-Weber, Gyproc and Isover have been innovating in the process of manufacturing the best quality products. Thus, sharing the best practices with the shareholders, presenting as solutions for the future of Indonesian infrastructure.

This also important as many cities struggle with environmental degradation, air quality, traffic congestion, the lack of water supply, sanitation, and waste management. The environmental footprint of the city due to development that is not environmentally friendly will have a negative impact on country’s natural resources needed in sustaining economic development and alleviate poverty in the country.  

Also attending the seminar including Bapak H.E. Olivier Chambard the French Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, and the Chairman of the Head of National Capital Implementation Imron Bulkin.
